Abstract

Low Birth Weight (LBW) is the state in which the baby is born with weight   less than 2500 grams. WHO explains that LBW is the highest contributor to the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is around 60% -80%. The report from the Aceh Health Office also shows that the infant mortality rate has increased by 18%. compared to the previous year which was caused by several things, one of which is LBW. The aim of the research is to analyze the factors that influence the incidence of LBW In Darussalam Health Center Aceh Besar District. The steps to be carried out are by conducting direct visits to the Darussalam Health Center to retrieve complete data of mothers who gave birth to babies with LBW. Where previously approached the village midwife to be accompanied directly to visit these mothers   to get accurate data   or secondary data that we need for research where The researchers directly conducted interviews with mothers who gave birth to LBW babies. Where the number of mothers who gave birth to babies with LBW was 32 people. After all the respondent data has been obtained, then the researcher will immediately do the grouping for further data processing. The results of the study found that the incidence of LBW was in the death category as much as 20 (37.5%), for a history of giving birth to LBW babies were in the non LBW category as many as 17 (53.1%) and 18 (56.2%) were in the non-KEK category. The influence of maternal age on the incidence of LBW has 11 times the chance of influencing the occurrence of LBW with P-Value of 0.001. OR value 10, history of giving birth to LBW babies with LBW events has a 5 times chance of influencing with LBW events with a P-Value of 0.008. OR value 5.3 and the impact of SEZ events with LBW events had a 7 times chance of influencing LBW events with a P-Value of 0.006. OR value 7.1.
