HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN MPASI DAN SELF EFFICACY DENGAN STUNTING PADA BALITA DI PUSKESMAS KELURAHAN PAMULANG
Abstract
Background: Stunting or short stature in toddlers is a serious health problem caused by chronic malnutrition and recurrent illness. Stunting has long-term negative impacts on children's physical, cognitive, and social development, as well as reducing productivity and competitiveness in adulthood. The prevalence of stunting in the world reached 22.3% in 2022, and in Indonesia, this figure was 21.6% according to the 2022 Indonesian Nutritional Status Study. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge of complementary feeding and self-efficacy with stunting in toddlers at the Pamulang Village Health Center. Methods: This research method was descriptive analytical with a cross sectional approach. The population and sample are mothers and toddlers aged 0-59 months who come to the Pamulang Village Health Center as many as 82 respondents with a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis using the chi-square test. Result: The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between knowledge of complementary feeding and stunting in toddlers at the Pamulang Village Health Center, obtained a p value of 0.001 and OR (95% CI) = 6.632, and self-efficacy with stunting in toddlers at the Pamulang Village Health Center, obtained a p value of 0.000 and OR (95% CI) = 8.337. Conclusion: It is known that there are still stunted toddlers, mothers with less knowledge of complementary feeding and low self-efficacy and there is a relationship between knowledge of complementary feeding with the incidence of stunting in toddlers at the Pamulang Village Health Center and there is a relationship between self-efficacy and the incidence of stunting in toddlers at the Pamulang Health Center. Recommendation: Provide ongoing education and support to parents and policies that support access to nutritious food needed for efforts to reduce the prevalence of stunting.
