THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY 7 DAYS BEFORE DELIVERY AND THE DURATION OF ACTIVE PHASE OF FIRST STAGE LABOR IN PRIMIPARA MOTHERS IN MALANG HEALTH FACILITIES
Abstract
Abstract: Labor that lasts too long can increase the risk of complications for the mother and fetus, but this risk can be minimized through physical activity which can affect the body's aerobic and cardiorespiratory capabilities, resulting in a maximum increase in maximum oxygen intake which can then increase energy supply. This energy supply is important to support myometrial muscle contractions during labor, especially in the early stages. This research aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and the duration of the active phase of first stage of labor in primiparous mothers. This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional approach on 30 primiparous mothers in Malang health facilities. Data was collected by filling in the PPAQ (Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire) questionnaire and analyzed using the Spearman rank test. This study carried out an analysis test and obtained p = 0.049 (p < 0.05), which means there is a relationship between physical activity 7 days before delivery and the duration of the first stage of labor in the active phase in primiparous mothers in Malang Health Facilities. The conclusion obtained is that it is getting higher the physical activity category 7 days before delivery, the duration of the speed of labor in the active phase of the first stage increases.
