REPLICATION OF UTILIZATION OF MOTHER AND CHILDRENS HEALTH (MCH) HANDBOOK BY STUDENTS AND LOCAL HEALTH PARTICIPANTS ASSISTANCES

Abstract

Berbagai upaya pelayanan kesehatan perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan status kesehatan ibu dan anak continum of care cycle. Salah satu kegiatan yang dilakukan yaitu dengan melaksanakan kegiatan pemanfaatan buku KIA melalui pendampingan ibu hamil dan ibu balita oleh mahasiswa dan kader kesehatan. Tujuan kegiatan ini agar ibu hamil dan ibu balita mengetahui isi buku KIA sehingga dapat mempraktikkan perilaku kesehatan sesuai isi buku KIA.

Rancangan: Pemanfaatan buku KIA melalui pendampingan diikuti oleh 20 orang mahasiswa dan 20 orang kader kesehatan dengan sasaran 12 ibu hamil trimester pertama dan 8 ibu Balita di Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Sebelum pelaksanaan pendampingan mahasiswa dan kader kesehatan dibekali teknis pendampingan selama 2 hari. Pendampingan dilaksanakan sekali tiap minggu selama 5 minggu. Setiap pertemuan mahasiswa dan kader memberikan informasi, edukasi secara bertahap dan berkesinambungan kepada ibu hamil dan ibu balita tentang isi buku KIA, sehingga ibu hamil dan ibu balita terpapar seluruh informasi yang ada dalam buku KIA.

Hasil dan Pembahasan: Pengetahuan ibu tentang isi buku KIA meningkat dari 17,9%, Perilaku ibu hamil dan ibu balita dalam membaca buku KIA meningkat dari 78,4% menjadi 90,9% dan kelengkapan pengisian buku KIA meningkat dari 75% menjadi 90,9%. Namun pendampingan oleh mahasiswa dan kader terhadap perilaku ibu hamil dan ibu balita dalam melaksanakan pemeriksaan belum menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan (p value 0,164). Kesimpulan: Pendampingan mahasiswa dan kader kesehatan dapat meningkatkan perilaku membaca  buku KIA, meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang isi buku KIA serta meningkatkan kelengkapan pengisian buku KIA.
